ashi-garami desk (2021)

Ashi-Garami translates literally to “entangled leg lock.” It belongs to a family of judo moves collectively known as Kansetzu Waza (joint locks) which all involve the use of arms and legs to trap joints and immobilize opponents. Inspired by antique chinese altars, this table can be assembled and dissasembled without any tools or screws, the whole structure held in place through an elaborate intertwining of steel members.
